The Bonaparte block is located directly south of Candorado's Canim Lake claims is some 725 sq/km in size. Candorado's claims are directly west of and adjoining large claim blocks under exploration by Rimefire Minerals and Christopher James Gold. Candorado chose this ground in consultation with its geologists based on highly anomalous stream sediments. The area acquired is also within the parameters of the 2006 Bonaparte Lake airborne multisensor survey which is being conducted by Geoscience B.C. and industry partners. Candorado expects the results of the survey to be released in spring or early summer, 2007. There are several gold, copper, molybdenum, and silver showings throughout the property.
Regional Geology
The property is situated within the Upper Triassic to Lower Jurassic Nicola Group, which forms part of the Quesnel Trough, a volcanic and sedimentary arc sequence affected by Upper Triassic to Jurassic intrusions. The Quesnel Trough extends for over one thousand km from northern Washington State to north-central British Columbia, and hosts alkalic porphyry copper-gold deposits as well as gold-skarns, and numerous porphyry occurrences.
Ownership
Candorado acquired 100% of the property through staking.
2007 Exploration
Candorado awaits results from the government funded airborne multisensor survey. We will then interpret the data and any encouraging results will be followed up by a field program.
